Gratin de pâte au thon - Fermes Ali Sfar (FAS)
TUNA PASTA BAKE

Ingredients :

  • 1 pound of shellfish pasta
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion peeled and chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper seeded and chopped
  • 11 oz of canned tuna, drained and crumbled
  • A pinch of salt and pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 28 oz tinned crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup double cream (thick)
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella – grated
  • 1 small bunch of parsley - roughly chopped

Recipe

Instructions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta for 1 minute less than recommended on the packaging. Drain.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
  3. Add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until the onion is softened.
  4. Add the chopped peppers, tuna, salt, pepper, garlic, tomato paste, and oregano. Stir and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Now add the tinned tomatoes and cream, bring to a light boil, then add the pasta. Mix everything together, then transfer to a large baking dish.
  6. Top with cheddar and mozzarella and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a pinch of parsley before serving.
